HBL PSL players practice shooting at SSU headquarters in Karachi

DIGP Security presents honourary shields, Sindhi topis, and ajraks to Pakistani and international stars

KARACHI:

A delegation of 20 players from various teams participating in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Edition 8 visited the headquarters of the Special Security Unit (SSU) in Karachi on Saturday and expressed their appreciation for the professional standards maintained in the unit.

The delegation consisted of prominent players from Islamabad United, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Peshawar Zalmi, including foreign players Martin Guptill, Johan Botha, and Ben Cutting.

Pakistani players including Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Faheem Ashraf, Umer Akmal, Haider Ali, Muhammad Haris, Danish Aziz, Rumman Raees and Abrar Ahmed were also among the visitors.

DIGP Security & Emergency Services Division Dr Maqsood Ahmed met the players and welcomed them to the headquarters.

He briefed them on the sacrifices made and steps taken to revive international cricket in Pakistan. The players were also given the opportunity to practice shooting at the indoor firing range of SSU.

Later, the team representatives presented team shirts as souvenirs to Dr Maqsood Ahmed.

The DIGP Security also presented honourary shields, Sindhi topis, and ajraks to the players.

The visit and interaction between the players and the SSU was a positive step towards promoting sports and security in Pakistan.
