Popular web browser Opera, recently shared its plans for AI integration with ChatGPT. Its parent company, Kunlun Tech, announced the new feature this week.
Upcoming updates to the browser will include “AI-generated content services to the browser sidebar” as the browser and search engine-related companies begin to take a deep interest in AI.
Opera has also added a 'shorten' button in the address bar to simplify functions and enable AI to generate a summary of a web page or article. The browser company intends to add filters to allow users easily go through the explosion of content on the internet.

Just last week, Microsoft announced ChatGPT integration to its browser, Microsoft Edge and Bing, but has a long waitlist. Google also announced its own AI chatbot, Bard, which has yet to be released for the use of the public.
Opera had approximately 321 million users in the third quarter of 2022, with ChatGPT daily users crossing over 100 million in early February. With a 2.4% market share and is the sixth most used browser globally, AI integration tools might help Opera ensure its keeps pace with competitors like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
