All-rounder Pakistani cricketer Shadab Khan kicked off his wedding festivities with a close-knit mehndi ceremony last night. A glimpse of the intimate event was shared on social media by fellow cricketer and friend Hassan Ali's wife Samiya Khan.
In the video circulating on Instagram, Shadab can be seen sitting on the stage, wearing a heavilly embroidered, deep green sherwani. As the video progresses, Samiya makes the groom wear a garland, while he smiles and looks towards the camera.
It looks like it's the season for Pakistani cricketers to get married! Just last week, Shaheen Shah Afridi tied the knot in an intimate Nikah ceremony with ace cricketer Shahid Afridi's daughter, Ansha Shahid.
Prior to this, Shadab also announced his nikkah last month by revealing that he had "joined mentor Saqi Bhai's family."
He wrote, "Alhamdulilah today was my nikah. It is a big day in my life and the start of a new chapter. Please respect my choices and those of my wife and our families. Prayers and love for all."
In a statement, Shadab added, "When I started playing cricket, I wanted to keep my family life separate, my family has also opted to stay out of public light. My wife has asked for the same, she wants her life to remain private. I would kindly request everyone to respect her choice and our family's choice."
He then joked, "However, if you want to send Salami, I will send an account number."
