District administrations directed to prepare for general elections

Newly appointed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Imdadullah Bosal on Wednesday directed districts administration to complete preparation for upcoming by-elections and general elections in the province.

The chief secretary gave these instructions while presiding over a high-level meeting here at the Civil Secretariat. Relevant administrative secretaries and director PMRU attended the meeting while divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners participated through video link.

Law and order situation, availability of wheat flour and fertilizers, and preparations for upcoming elections was discussed at length in the meeting.

Chief secretary directed deputy commissioners to keep a close check on markets and ensure availability of flour and fertilizers at notified rates. He further ordered deputy commissioners to ensure readiness for elections and extend all out support to the Election Commission of Pakistan to conduct peaceful and transparent elections.

Deputy commissioners were also directed to fulfill their duties with utmost honesty and impartiality and urged them to strictly comply with the code of conduct of ECP.
