RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) Wednesday held its fourth consecutive open court Wednesday where citizens raised concerns about a host of issues including exorbitant fees at the Cantonment General Hospital, and malfunctioning street lights.

According to sources, other issues including the closure of a road in Chungi No 22 and unchecked encroachments were also highlighted at the open court.

Litigants who arrived at the Cantt board after 2pm were barred from entering the katchehry, they said.

On the occasion, Cantonment Executive Officer Imran Gulzar said the purpose of holding the open court was to make it easy for the citizens to lodge their complaints with relevant departments.

He said a subsidy of Rs300 to Rs400 million was being given to the Cantonment General Hospital. “Work on the out-of-order street lights has been started in all the wards of Cantt,” he informed.

Meanwhile, complaints were received against 28 different departments during the open court.
