Security for PSL opener finalised

Over 8,000 personnel will perform duty for five fixtures in Multan

MULTAN:

Police have finalised security plans for the 8th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), which will start on February 13 at Multan Cricket Stadium. Over 8,000 police personnel will be deployed as security for the event.

City Police Officer (CPO) Mansoorul Haq will personally monitor security arrangements, while SSP Operations Syed Ali would oversee the deployment of personnel at all security points. Officials from the police, Elite force, Pak Army, Rangers, Special branch and other departments would be deployed at the stadium, the airport, parking lots, hotels and other sensitive places, including routes the teams will travel along.

Police will conduct search operations in the city, while special commandos and lady officers equipped with modern gear would patrol the areas adjacent to Multan Cricket Stadium for quick response during any emergency.

Police have also issued guidelines for fans and asked them to bring their national identity card and tickets for entry to stadium. Fans were also prohibited from bringing weapons, matchboxes, cigarettes, knives or other dangerous items with them. Additionally, the use of drone cameras in the stadium has been banned police sources added.
