Kaifi Khalil’s Kahani Suno, the popular heartbreak song that no one can get over, is singer Goher Mumtaz’s favourite too. In fact, the former Jal member believes that in the past two decades, if there’s any song that has come close to Aadat’s timelessness, it’s this.
While Mumtaz didn’t clarify whether he was referring to Jal’s or Atif Aslam’s Aadat, the comparison is still a winner given both the tracks were a hit back in the day and remain timeless even now.
On Tuesday, the singer linked Khalil’s popular song to his Instagram Story to write, “I have to admit that any song which can ever come close to Aadat’s popularity in the last 20 years is Kahani Suno.” Tagging the Balochi prodigy, he added, “Simple lyrics, simplest guitar and he sang it straight from the heart.”
Kahani Suno originally released in 2021 and continues to win hearts even in 2023. Earlier, Khalil took to social media to announce that his latest tune had bagged a spot in the top global music video chart on YouTube.
Taking to Instagram, the Kana Yaari crooner posted a screenshot of the music video highlighting the part that reflected the song attain the 55th ranking. He also added a heartfelt caption to express his gratitude for reaching this milestone. "Thank you so much for giving my story a voice! All my love and prayers to everyone who has supported me throughout my career," penned Khalil.
The tear-jerking melody of the song even had singer Aima Baig in awe. She loved it so much that she even released her own rendition of the song, along with a music video. Other than Baig, many other celebrities have lauded Khalil's mastery.
In December 2022, actor Ahsan Khan posted a video on his Instagram account that showed him sitting alongside Khalil as he sang the celebrated number. In the clip shared online, Khan appears awestruck by Khalil's voice and can’t help but admire his gift. When Khalil finally finishes the song, the Udaari actor gives him a huge round of applause.
