The Pashtun National Alliance of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) has announced it will hold a peace rally on February 25 in Swat Kabal Ground.
The core committee meeting of Pashtun National Alliance was held at the Bacha Khan center in Peshawar on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Awami National Party (ANP) Provincial General Secretary Sardar Hussain Babak, Central Secretary Youth Affairs Khan Zaman Kakar, Provincial Secretary Cultural Khadim Hussain and representatives and members of other parties and organizations associated with the alliance.
It was unanimously decided in the meeting that Pakhtun peace seminar will be organized soon in which all stakeholders will participate.
In the meeting, the convener of the Pashtun National Unity was also decided, which will be changed in stages. In the first stage, the ANP will take up the post.
In the meeting, it was also decided that in the second and third phase, ‘Aman Ulasi Passon’ and seminars will be organized in Peshawar Valley, Southern Districts and merged districts as well.
After the meeting, ANP’s Babak addressed the press conference along with other members of the core committee and said that everyone has to stand up for the establishment of peace. “Silence is not the way to deal with unrest but standing up.”
He said people’s patience has run out and apprehended that chaos in the Pashtun and Baloch region could take a dangerous turn.
Lambasting the provincial government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said that they had handed over Pakhtunkhwa to terrorists. “In Peshawar, Charsadda, Swabi and other districts, the government’s writ ends in the evening and the terrorists' writ begins.”
