Pakistan’s legendary cricket star Javed Miandad, well-known umpire Aleem Dar and world-famed cricket players arrived in Quetta to participate and witness the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Quetta.
The eighth PSL match is scheduled to be held in Quetta on Feb 5 at the Nawab Akbar Bugti Stadium.
All arrangements have been made for the match in the provincial capital.
National players Umar Akmal, Usman Qadir, and others have also reached Quetta.
The Commissioner Quetta Division, Sohailur Rehman, and other high-ranking officials received the cricketers at the Quetta international airport.
Strict security measures were adopted by the district administration of Quetta to avoid any untoward incident.
Police contingents have been deployed on the main Airport Road and barbed wire has been placed at certain points on the road to ensure an uninterrupted flow of traffic during the match.
Provincial government has also finalized a foolproof security plan to ensure protection of players and spectators during the match.
Within two days, the management and administration of the match sold out all 14,000 tickets for the PSL match.
Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo Friday visited the Nawab Akbar Bugti stadium and reviewed security arrangements for the match.
High-level officials accompanied the CM during his visit.
The capacity at the Nawab Akbar Bugti stadium is 14,000.
Scores of cricket enthusiasts gathered outside the stadium to buy tickets for the match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi. However, the administration said that there were no further tickets as the stadium could not accommodate more than 14,000 people.
This is for the first time in the history of Balochistan that a PSL match is being played here.
