Three people died and two fainted due to reportedly drinking poisonous liquor. Local police reached the spot and shifted the bodies to the hospital for a post-mortem. DPO Rahim Yar Khan took notice of the incident.

According to details, three members of the same family died after drinking poisonous liquor in the Christian Colony area of Sadiqabad Tehsil. Two other residents of the house, including a woman, were also shifted to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness.

Upon receiving reports of the three deaths, city police reached the spot and after taking necessary legal action, transferred the bodies to the hospital for a post-mortem.

The two unconscious persons were provided medical assistance in the hospital. The three deceased, identified as Muhammad Sultan, Shakeel Ahmed and Riyaz Ahmed, were reportedly vagrants.

Taking notice of the incident, DPO Akhtar Farooq tasked the ASP and SHO Police Station City Sadiqabad to submit a report about the incident.

Earlier, a police spokesperson said that the three deaths may be due to the consumption of a poisonous substance. Food samples in the home were being obtained for laboratory analysis.

A post-mortem of the bodies was conducted to find the actual cause of death and investigations are being carried out from every aspect of the incident. The preliminary medical analysis revealed that the three persons died from drinking poisonous liquor.
