Hazim Bangwar, the new assistant commissioner for Karachi's North Nazimabad, is the latest internet sensation. After the officer took to his social media to announce his new role, some people took a dive into Bangwar’s personal life and shared some pictures on the micro-blogging website.

Last week, Bangwar took to Twitter to share pictures from the office. “It’s a privilege to serve you as your new Assistant Commissioner,” read the tweet.

Sana Tariq Syed, the assistant commissioner of Liquatabad, took to her Instagram to confirm the news and hail the newest addition to their team.

“To everyone asking me, yes, Hazim Bangwar is the new AC North Nazimabad. He is artistic and a talented musician but he also happens to be a competent, hardworking, financially and morally righteous officer – a feat we can't say many of us possess. District Central is very proud to have him,” she wrote in an Instagram Story.

Bangwar’s friends reposted the tweet to share how proud they are of the achievement and social media users also chimed in to share how happy they are to see the “coolest and stylish” officer in town.

They tweeted about how glad they are of the government finally prioritising education and hard work.

However, some people were conflicted about Bangwar’s role based on his “eclectic” and “feminine” dressing sense although the commissioner was in proper work attire at the police station. Others found the whole situation “hilarious.”

However, one user found Bangwar’s hiring rather progressive. “Isn’t it amazing to see that our education system is finally choosing merit irrespective of personal biases or beliefs? I truly love this,” the user shared.

Another user highlighted how such behaviour is why this nation cannot progress.

“Pictures of the new Assistant Commissioner of North Nazimabad Karachi Hazim Ali Bangwar are circulating on social media. That's the problem of this nation just to focus on looks and personality! Nothing to do with work, good or bad performance,” read the tweet.
