I’m not a perfect husband but I try to be a better one every day: Vicky Kaushal

Actor shared that his life after marriage has been rewarding and he loves his wife dearly

Bollywood’s Vicky Kaushal feels that he is not anywhere close to being a “perfect husband” to his wife Katrina Kaif as of yet but he tries to be a better version of himself every day. The actor opened up about his married life and how it has changed things for him – all for the better and how he always thrives to stay true to his love.

In a conversation with Lifestyle Asia India, Kaushal talked about how he loves his wife so much and that love makes him want to be the best version of himself. Upon his “ideal man image” on social media amongst his fans, the Sardar Udham actor said that he’s not “perfect” at all.

“I’m not perfect in any way. Not as a husband, a son, a friend or an actor. I think that’s the ongoing quest and the process of reaching that is, I think, where I’ve always wanted to be. Being perfect is like a mirage, you know? You always feel you’re reaching there but you’re never quite there,” he said. “So, I don’t think I’m a perfect husband. I don’t think I’m perfect in any way, but I try to be the best version of a husband I can be at any given moment. Of course, tomorrow I will be better than I was yesterday but I always try to do the best that I can."

He further reflected on his marriage with Kaif and added that life after marriage is rewarding in many ways. "You learn a lot when you start living with a person and when you have a companion. I think in the past year, I’ve learned so much more than the years I was single because it’s just beautiful how you start understanding another person’s perspective and that makes you truly grow as a person,” he stated.

About Kaif, he simply said that he “loves” his wife a lot and that “a person in love is always the best version of themselves.” Kaushal and Kaif tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in December 2021 in Rajasthan. Since then, the couple has been spotted out and about in Mumbai, attending events together.

On the work front, Kaushal was last seen in Govinda Naam Mera alongside Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar. He is currently working on Sam Bahadur, a film based on the life of India's first Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the biopic is scheduled to be released in December this year. On the other hand, Kaif was last seen in the supernatural horror comedy film Phone Bhoot in 2022.
