Winter weddings: Cues to take from Nische Khan’s bridal looks

As Shan Masood and Nische Khan’s wedding festivities come to an end, their looks have become the talk of the town

KARACHI:

As Shan Masood and Nische Khan’s wedding festivities come to an end, their looks have become the talk of the town – and for all the right reasons! The ace cricketer’s ladylove has knocked it out of the park at every event.

While most of her outfits exuded the classic representation of a modern bride, each look was different from the other in terms of colour, aesthetic and makeup. From the nikkah to qawwali, we bring you a detailed roundup of Nishe’s noteworthy (read: drop-dead-gorgeous!) looks.

Nikkah

Nische looked gorgeous in a sari complete with cut-out bordered edges. She kept her hair open and opted for indigo floral jewellery. The sky blue colour of the drape was an apt choice for a winter soirée. The deep sleeveless blouse comprised a keyhole neckline and sparkling silver embellishments. Scattered sequins put the look together, while minimal makeup coupled with a nude pout added to the perfect finishing touches.

Rukhsati

Nische’s looks got more glamorous with every occasion. The ace cricketer’s bride sealed the deal in a peach and ivory bridal gown by Sania Maskatiya. The ensemble was heavily encrusted with silver work, baby pink rosettes and a chunky cut-out border, typical of Maskatiya’s aesthetic. The three-quarter sleeves blouse featured dangling stones, showing close attention to detail. A pink ruffled lehenga and diamond jewellery rounded off her dreamy look. With her hair in a pulled back up do, Nische opted for heavier makeup for the ‘Qabool Hai’ event.

Reception

For the grand reception, the new bride stunned in an Ammara Khan creation. A suitable choice for a valima event, she was clad in a beige peshwaas, ornamented with heavy gold and silver embellishments. Emerald green accents and beautifully worked butterflies and flowers added a pop of colour. She opted for elegant diamond and emerald jewellery, dewy makeup and had her hair in a neat up do.

Qawwali

This one deserves a special mention! It set her apart from most of her previous looks and served as a seamless end to the week-long nuptials. Donning a Bisma Kayani number, Nische was dressed in a plum kaalidar. The heavily worked bodice featured jewel tones in green, crimson and purple, and was complete with traditional chattapatti on the sleeves. Providing for a contemporary twist, the net outfit was sheer at the waist and blended in with the red ghagra. Wearing her tresses differently this time around, a braided half-tie hairstyle stole the show.
