These operations are a drama. From Ilyas Goth five people were arrested out of which one was mentally retarted, one KESC driver along with his younger brother, one milk shop owner and the brother of a drug dealer. They were released after "THOD & JODH" with the police. This is the second operatin in Ilyas Goth in a span of four months where the drug dealer always manages to escape however our brave forces manage to catch innocent people. Goverment is not all serious to put an end to the target killings.
let u suffer d results of misdeeds of ur forefathers and fellow countrymen.ur past will haunt u down.
Give everyone a few days notice to clear out -- then do house to house searches - does anyone really think this is going to stop the violence?
Without any compasssion, all these arrested people should be hanged till death. Only after hudnred or two hundred ruthless punishments, Karachi can get rid of these killing sprees.
@Arzoo: I am neither befuddled nor confused. We live under the draconian laws and administrative mindset that was created against the locals to suit the gora sahebs. The Killing Fields are faciliated by the state. The law abiding citizens are barred from carrying their licensed weapons for self defence when they need the most courtesy section 144. Consequently, the Killing Fields are ripe and open for slaughter of the unarmed/helpless law abiding citizens by these killers without any fear of resistance. I call it state protection for these killers. And then their IDs are so religiously guarded and then they are released. These murderers who enjoy full state protection. All the killers are known yet they are allowed to raom free and continue their killing spree....
When was the last time LEAs saved someone from such gruesome death? They are just a reactionary force to put up a show for the poeple to contain their reaction.
@Jamal: I believe, but I am not sure, that the faces are covered so people are not influenced to identify them in a police line-up. However, your point is still a valid one; all we read is that the arrested belonged to "a political party." Or described in other vague terms like that. The story is always murky and fuzzy. I know that the media is trying to do a decent job but either the threat of violence is so big that even the media shies away from giving details or God knows what. I am as befuddled and confused as you are. Let's hope for some sanity for the sake of the poor people. What shatters me is that our people are oppressed and in difficulty in normal circumstances and to kill them in cold blood and not leave a bread-earner in the family is, how do you classify it, barbaric.
Once again, the public is in the dark as to the identities and affiliations of the arrested criminals. Why not show them on TV? Are their IDs being protected so that they can be released later without any public protest? The height of insincerity and insensitivity towards lives of common people was when people like ajmal pahari were released even after video confession. Besides, what is people who were defending themselves against assailants have been arrested? After all, assailants in Chakra Goth came from somewhere else and left after attacks. When will the LEAs go to Liyaqatabad and 90 no go areas to arrest the militants?
