DIJKOT:

An employee of Assistant Commissioner (AC) City, who was monitoring a drama at a theatre was allegedly slapped, tortured and locked in a room by four people, including the theater producer and owner. AC City and his staff reached the spot and freed their colleague and filed a case against the culprits.

According to the case filed by AC City Waqas Safdar Sikandari with Factory Area police, it was stated that Muhammad Irfan went to a theatre in the city for monitoring and inspection.

When an artist allegedly performed an immoral action during the play, he began filming it with his mobile phone. Meanwhile, the drama producer Abbas, his colleagues Haji Arshad and four other accused took the phone from Irfan and forbade him from making the video.

Irfan told the accused that he was on official business and should not be discriminated against, but they did not listen and took him to the office of the theatre owner.

They locked him inside after allegedly torturing him. Upon receiving reports of the incident, AC City staff head clerk Abid Masood and Subhan reached the spot and rescued Irfan.

The police registered a case under sections 342, 353, 286, 427 and 149 of the PPC and started searching for the accused.
