Canva has gained a lot of popularity due to the design ideas and creativity it offers. The platform's free version has limited templates and elements whereas the paid version offers more variety to the users.

If you use the designing app frequently or want to explore it further, here are some hacks that can make it easier to use.

Free elements

Are you frustrated with filtering out free and premium elements? Here is a quick tip for you. Type in “brand:BAAMOuJH0Ec” or “brand:BAAAAP7rQ8M” in the search box. These secret codes will bring up only the free elements in the Canva library.

Add textbox quickly

If you are in the middle of a design or short on time and want to add a text box to the template, just press “t” on your keyboard to get a text box immediately.

Record your presentation

No matter how good your presentation is, if you are unable to present it yourself, you can't score well. So to avoid any such situation, you can always record yourself talking through the presentation slides. To do so, click the ‘Share’ button on your top menu. Click on ‘Present and record’ and select ‘Next’ and ‘Go to recording studio.’ Now select ‘Start recording.’ Once you have completed the recording, click ‘End recording’ and click ‘Save and exit.’

The recorded video will be embedded with the presentation.

Grid View

If you are designing too many slides or need to see how the whole file looks, you need to click on “grid view” on the bottom right. You can see your work at a glance and arrange it accordingly.
