Two women caught selling hashish in separate raids
While women are coming forward in every profession, two women were caught selling drugs in separate incidents. Police recovered over 7kgs of hashish from them. Tipu Sultan Police, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in PECHS Block 6 near railway track and arrested a burqa-clad woman Naheed and recovered more than 3.5kgs of hashish from her.
The raiding party had brought along a policewoman to body search the suspect. Male officials are not allowed to frisk women, whereas policewomen are known to treat female suspects very harshly showing least mercy. The suspect Naheed had tucked packs of hashish under her burqa and was going to make a delivery when lady police nailed her. According to the police, the arrested woman is a resident of Manghopir Kanwari Colony.
During preliminary investigation she admitted to selling hashish. Police have registered a case against the accused. Meanwhile, the Rangers and police acting jointly on an intelligence-based information also arrested a woman involved in drug peddling from Native Jetty Bridge in Keamari area and recovered three and a half kilos of hashish and a mobile phone from her possession during the search.
According to a statement issued by the Rangers, the Sindh Rangers, acting on a tip-off, arrested the accused, identified as Nadia, red-handed from the Native Jetty bridge when the accused had reached there to deliver drugs. During the preliminary investigation, the accused has confessed to her involvement in drug peddling in Keamari, Manghopir and surrounding areas. On her identification, raids are also being conducted to arrest other associates. She was handed over to the police along with the drugs and mobile phone for further legal action.
