The head of the Gwadar Rights Movement (GRM) Maulana Hidayat Ur Rehman was handed over to the crime branch police on a three-day physical remand by the anti-terrorism court.

According to details, Maulana along with three other members of GRM was presented before the anti- terrorism court on Monday.

Judge of the ATC, Saadat Khan Bazai handed over the Maulana and other three accused to crimes branch police on a three-day remand.

On the application of the crime branch, the court approved three days of physical remand.

In another case, the Maulana along with his three colleagues was presented before judge for identification on audio and video case in the court of

Judicial Magistrate 10. Judge Abdul Sattar Bugti adjourned the hearing of the case.

The GRM has been protesting for the last three months against illegal fishing, trawling, and unnecessary check posts. Violent clashes have broken out between the members of GRM and the police. Mobile services were also suspended for ten days which paralyzed life in Gwadar.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo had taken notice of the unwanted incidents that took place during the clashes between GRM and police.

Members of GRM were arrested from different areas of the Gwadar district. The leader of GRM, Hussain Wadela was also arrested and was later granted bail by the court.

“Hundreds of activists and leaders of GRM have been arrested, and several children, old people, women, and men have been injured”, a GRM activist stated while talking to the media.
