The federal government has also constituted a joint investigation team in which representatives of Military Intelligence, Inter-Services Intelligence and Intelligence Bureau have been included to investigate the attack on PTI chief Imran Khan in Wazirabad.

After the Punjab government, the federal government has also formed a JIT to investigate the attack.

After the approval of the federal cabinet, the Ministry of Interior issued the JIT notification.
