It seems like ‘tis the season of cricketers getting hitched! After Haris Rauf got off the market, congratulations are in order for Shan Masood and Nische Khan. The couple exchanged rings in an intimate ceremony last night.
After a digital invitation card for the batsman’s reception leaked online, social media users have been waiting for his wedding. However, it was reported earlier that Shan and Nische will tie the knot on January 21 but the couple is yet to confirm the gossip. There are speculations on whether last night’s event was an engagement or a party to kick off their wedding festivities – either way, the couple looked magical and we’re here for it!
The dapper cricketer Shan opted for a traditional, white kurta shalwar and a waistcoat of the same colour while the bride-to-be Nische looked gorgeous in a sari complete with cut-out bordered edges. She kept her hair open and opted for indigo floral jewellery. The sky blue colour of the drape was an apt choice for a winter soirée. The deep sleeveless blouse comprised a keyhole neckline and sparkling silver embellishments. Scattered sequined accents put the look together, while minimal makeup coupled with a nude pout added to the perfect finishing touches.
Videos circulating on social media feature the duo exchanging rings surrounded by their close friends and family. While everyone cheers on the couple for beginning another chapter of their life, the duo has their gazes locked on one other.
The left-handed batsman, who was recently named as vice-captain of the country’s ODI team for the New Zealand series, recently admitted his relationship with Nische in an interview. He called his bride-to-be his best friend and said these days are an “exciting time of his life.” Recalling his first interaction with Nische, Shan said that he first met her in Lahore and then everything changed for the better in his life.
When asked about marrying someone so different from him, the cricketer said that it’s a pleasure for him to choose his life partner from a different background and that it translates to multicultural diversity. He also emphasised on how, at the age of 33, he realised that other things, especially relationships, hold great importance in life.
