Govt to track immunisation of schoolchildren

Dr Pechuho says health department will help in immunisation and eyesight and malnutrition assessment of schoolchildren

KARACHI:

Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho in a meeting with the Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah said that steps should be taken to make the certificate of immunization mandatory for children to get school admission.

She said that although the health department has immunisation data of people at Union Council level, making it necessary for school admissions will help trace children who are not immunized.

Dr Pechuho said that health department will help in immunisation and eyesight and malnutrition assessment of schoolchildren.

British delegation

British Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of Great Britain has earmarked funds for the development of various sectors in Pakistan including education sector in Sindh. British High Commission Islamabad Director Development Jo Moir said this during a meeting with Sindh Education and Culture Minister Syed Sardar Shah on Wednesday here at his office.
