‘Ineffective tahveez’ costs faith healer his life

Man kills him with bricks before tossing body into canal

DIJKOT:

A faith healer was killed on Monday. Sajid Mahmood, 40, a faith healer, had given an amulet to Hassan, assuring him that the power of the amulet would amicably settle the issues Hasan had been having with his estranged wife.

However, Hassan’s wife walked out on him and went back to her parents’ house.

Hassan again approached the faith healer, complaining to him that his amulet had not had any effect.

The faith healer pacified Hassan and hoodwinked him into accepting another amulet against a payment of Rs5,000.

Hassan waited for a miracle to happen but when none happened, Hassan, along with a friend, picked up the faith healer from his house and took him to an unknown location where they battered the faith healer with bricks and tossed him into the canal bank branch. The deceased’s body was fished out from the canal on Tuesday. Police arrested Hassan.

The SHO of Samanabad, Sub-Inspector Hamad Yusuf, said that raids were being conducted to arrest Hassan’s friend.
