After a week of drama, Rakhi Sawant's husband accepts their marriage
After much controversy surrounding their married life, Rakhi Sawant's husband Adil Khan Durrani has finally broken his silence and confirmed he has indeed tied the knot with the Indian actor-performer.
Taking to Instagram, Durrani re-shared pictures of the lovebirds during their wedding ceremony, reciprocating Sawant's sentiments with a heartfelt caption. "So here’s an announcement: I never said I am not married to you Rakhi. Just had to handle few things so had to be quiet, happy married life to us Rakhi," penned Durrani, adding a few heart emojis at the end.
The Bigg Boss star also responded to Durrani's post in the comment section. She wrote, "Thank you, my beloved. Lots of love."
In a recent interview, ETimes quoted Durrani as saying, "Well, yes, Rakhi and I are married. We are living together and happy." The aforementioned publication also revealed that the entrepreneur's family had still not accepted the Mein Hoon Na actor as his wife. Upon being asked about his family, he said, "It will take some time." Durrani allegedly refuted reports of getting married to Sawant as his family has not “reconciled” with her.
Prior to this, the Masti actor also revealed that she officially tied the knot with Durrani in July last year. She told ETimes, "Yes, I got married to Adil in July last year after three months of knowing him. We had a nikah ceremony and a court marriage. Since he stopped me from disclosing it, I remained tightlipped for the past seven months. He felt that it would get difficult to find a suitor for his sister if people got to know about our marriage."
She then went on to detail how she met Durrani while going through a rough patch in her life. "I was almost in depression because of the betrayal of my loved ones. However, much to my surprise, that's when Adil came into my life and made promises to love me forever. He also offered to marry me and we immediately got hitched. Unfortunately, his family has still not accepted me."
Prior to this, Sawant was allegedly married to Ritesh Singh, an NRI businessman with whom she entered the Bigg Boss 15 house as wild cards. However, they parted ways soon after she learnt that her marriage wasn't legal in India as Singh hadn't divorced his first wife.
