PESHAWAR:

K-P leaders condemned the ‘tragic’ killing of former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association and senior lawyer, Abdul Latif Afridi.

Awami National Party (ANP) chief and central president Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the merciless killing of former president of the SCBA is unfortunate.

“Latif Afridi was not only a senior lawyer but also an important part of the national movement. He created a unique name not only in the field of advocacy but also in the field of politics”.

He further said that today is a dark day for the entire Pakhtunkhwa including the lawyer community. “We stand by his family and the entire lawyer community in this hour of grief.”

He demanded that all the culprits involved in his killing should be identified and punished according to law.

Condemning the murder of senior lawyer, ANP central leader Haji Ghulam Bilor said, “Today the senior lawyer and politician of our country and province, renowned Pakhtun nationalist, who spent his entire life standing for the innocent people and a very harmless person was taken away from us.”

“The deceased was my colleague and a very close friend. Throughout his life, he played his important role for the restoration of democracy and rule of law and continued his mission.”
