Centre responsible for inflation, economic crisis: CM

CM strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Sarband police station

Chief Minister K-P Mahmood Khan

PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has held the federal government responsible for the prevailing economic crisis and unprecedented inflation in the country.

Addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet and governing body of Peshawar Press Club, the CM strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Sarband police station, calling it a heinous crime against humanity. He maintained that the provincial police force was fighting against the terrorists on the front line. The entire nation stands with its police force which has rendered numerous sacrifices for the establishment of peace, he said.

The CM censured the federal interior minister for his “anti-K-P police remarks” and said that the incumbent federal cabinet was involved in the Lahore Model Town incident. He called for the registration of FIRs against the cabinet members.

Regarding the steering committee formed by the premier for the erstwhile Fata, Khan termed the step unconstitutional, saying it had no legal ground after the 25th constitutional amendment.

Appointment of a civil servant as its chairman and governor as its member is incomprehensible, he added.

He said the notification about the formation of the committee would be challenged on all the forums and noted that it was “tantamount to usurping the rights of the province”.
