RAWALPINDI:

Irked by the unjustified delay in the open court of Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Aamir Zulfiqar, a large number of complainants and local notables slammed what they called the indifferent behaviour of the organisers including the IG.

The top official arrived two hours late, due to which the public faced serious problems.

Sources said strict security arrangements were made for the visit of the Punjab IG.

They further said the IG expressed his anger over the deteriorating crime situation in Rawalpindi and directed devising a strategy to eradicate street crime and traffic problems.

Aamir Zulfiqar is currently on a visit to Rawalpindi after taking charge of the post.

On the first day, the IG visited the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) headquarters where he was posted as deputy director general before his appointment as Punjab’s top cop.

On the second day of the visit, the Punjab IG reached the Police Lines where he paid a visit to the martyrs' memorial and laid a wreath.
