In various traffic accidents in the area of Faisalabad, seven people including a father and son, three brothers were killed, while 16 people including six children were injured.
Five people were killed while four others suffered injuries in a pile-up within the Dijkot area.
A Rescue 1122 spokesman said on Saturday that the accident took place near Adda Kijkot on Gojra road, where three cars collided with each other.
The five deceased were identified as 12-yearold Subhan, 24-year-old Muzafar, 22-year-old Hamza, 23-year-old Rashid and 48-year-old Safdar, while 46-yearold Maqsood Ahmad, 40-year-old Rukhsana, four-year-old Ahmad and 55-year-old Abdul Majeed were injured.
Rescuers shifted the injured to the district headquarters hospital, where the condition of three of them was termed serious.
Police took the bodies into custody and launched an investigation.
According to rescue sources, the accident happened due to speeding, due to which the cars crashed into the sugar cane crop.
Moreover, a passenger bus hit a car in front of a soup factory on Sargodha Road.
As a result of accident, Abid died on the spot, while five children in the car, including Ahmed, Arsalan, Shakeel and Murtaza were injured and shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
Similarly, a rickshaw driver named Murtaza was killed instantly after being hit by a truck near Jhang Road Air Revenue Colony.
Meanwhile at Sumandari Road Nara Adda, 6 people were injured when two cars collided on Saturday.
The injured were identified as 25-year-old Hamza, 60-year-old Farooq, 50-year-old Ishaq, 42-yearold Saif ul Rehman, 42-year-old Shahid and 45-year-old Nadeem were shifted to the hospital.
