Relatives of murdered boy stage sit-in protest

Block National Highway, demand immediate arrest of accused

The relatives of the boy whose body was found in the bushes near Dhabeji area of Steel Town, staged a sit-in protest and placed the body of the deceased on the National Highway. As a result the flow of traffic was disrupted making long queues of all vehicles including the freight cariers.

The protesters demanded that the accused who kidnapped and allegedly raped and killed the child should be arrested immediately.

Heavy contingents of police reached the scene and talked to the protestors to end the protest. Negotiations with the protestors were going on till the last reports.

The tortured and burnt body of a teenage boy was found in the bushes near the railway line, close to Darya Khan Goth, adjacent to Dhabeji area of Steel Town.

On the information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem.

According to the police spokesperson, the deceased was said to be around 10-year-old. Marks of torture were found on the body, while the victim was also burnt partially. The victim could not be identified immediately and the body was kept in the martuary.

After the autopsy report, the cause of death and rape would be determined, the police had said.
