Delimitation issue
The Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned the parties for January 10 on a request for urgent hearing on the petitions of MQM-Pakistan against the delimitation of various districts of Karachi.
A two-member SHC bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro, remarked that the Supreme Court has already given a judgment on the constituencies.
The counsel for MQM-Pakistan submitted that their petitions were about demarcation of towns; therefore the Election Commission of Pakistan could not be a party. The petitions are against the decision of the Delimitation of Appellate Authority on behalf of voters. Demarcations are made by the Sindh government.
The Additional Advocate General took the stand that such applications have already been rejected by the Supreme Court.
