Faraz Khan, founder of Karachi-based venture capitalist firm SEED Ventures, has been awarded United Kingdom’s MBE title — Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.
Khan was conferred with the prestigious award by UK’s King Charles III for his services to strengthen Pakistan-UK bilateral ties.
The MBE is awarded in recognition of contribution to arts, sciences, charitable work, welfare work, and public service.

Khan is the founder of Social, Entrepreneurship & Equity Development (SEED) Ventures which is an investment and impact development organisation in Pakistan.
Within 10 years, Khan has taken the group from an idea to a sustainable organisation, with a turnover of $40 million for SEED and its portfolio companies, according to his LinkedIn profile.

With a strong base in the UK, he has been able to create collaborations and partnerships at a local and global level with public, private, development, media, academia and financial sectors.
The profile said Khan has mobilised these partnerships to raise multimillion dollar funds through cross-sectorial investment architecture with vehicles like corporate impact venturing, blended finance, co-investments and public private partnerships.
