CTD detains 12 terror suspects

Handgun and ammunition was seized from alleged criminals

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab arrested 12 terror suspects from different part of the province, according to a CTD spokesperson.

The CTD conducted 39 Combing and Search Operations, in which 40 localities in different areas of Punjab were checked, he said, adding that during these combing operations, 2,417 suspects were interrogated, 677 persons were biometrically checked and 12 suspects were arrested.

He further said that 8 FIRs were registered against arrested suspects in Lahore, Okara, Phalia Mandi Bahauldin, Nishat Abad Faisalabad and in Chowk Azam, Layyah.

He added that the police also seized a 30-bore pistol and other ammunition from them.

The spokesman stated that CTD Punjab is proactively pursuing its goal of a safe and secure Punjab and will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to bring terrorists and anti-state elements behind bars.
