Development banking: Gilani lauds role of ADB

The prime minister underlined the government’s commitment to maintain financial discipline.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday appreciated the role the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had been playing in various sectors in Pakistan.

Talking to ADB Vice President Xiaoyu Zhao and ADB Director General Juan Marinda, the prime minister said that his government was focusing on energy, water, roads and infrastructure sectors. The prime minister underlined the government’s commitment to maintain financial discipline, reduce fiscal deficit, mobilise domestic resources and pursue a high-growth strategy.
