Mahars get bail in kidnapping case

A court in Ghotki district on Thursday granted bail to Grand Democratic Alliance MPA Ali Gohar Mahar, former provincial minister and Pakistan Peoples Party MPA Raja Khan Mahar and former chairman district council Haji Khan Mahar in a kidnapping case.

Talking to the media outside the court Ali Gohar claimed that his family's political opponents have charged them in a fake case of kidnapping a young man Syed Fida Abbass Shah Kazmi.

The court approved the bails against surety of Rs100,000 paid by each of them. The Mahars were booked in a FIR on Wednesday at A-Section police station on the order of the Supreme Court. The complainant, Advocate Syed Qambar Ali Shah Kazmi, alleged that his nephew was kidnapped in front of him from his office. The complainant said they were locked in a dispute with Mahars over the issue of a graveyard and alam of Ghazi Abbass.
