The Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) is set to hold a public hearing on the environmental impact of a high-rise residential building project on Tuesday (today).
According to a statement, citizens would be able to debate the merits and demerits of ‘The Golf Floras-II’ project with a special focus on its impact on the surrounding environment.
The environment watchdog said the public hearing is being held under the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act, 1997 and review of IEE/EIA Regulations Act, 2000.
The EIA report, due to be discussed on the day of the hearing, includes a detailed account of existing environmental conditions, a project description, an analysis of the impacts and proposed mitigation measures to be implemented during the project execution.
Pak-EPA said it is mandatory to seek environmental approval and a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the body.
