Five injured in grenade attack on Quetta shop

Injured rushed to local hospital for medical treatment; Balochistan CM condemns the attack

QUETTA:

At least five, including a woman and a child, were injured when unidentified people attacked a local shop in Quetta on Sunday.

According to Express News, the blast took place on Sabzal Road in the provincial capital.

Confirming the attack, police sources have said that the area has been sealed and evidence is being collected from the scene. According to security officials, a local shop was attacked with a hand grenade during the attack.

As per hospital sources, the injured were identified as 22-year-old Mohammad Farooq s/o Munir Ahmed, 18-year-old Ahmed s/o Dost Mohammad, 33-year-old Sanaullah s/o Amanullah Umar and others.

They said that the injured people in the blast were being provided medical treatment at the hospital.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo condemned the blast and expressed grief and sorrow over the injuries of people.

He directed to provide the best possible treatment facilities to the injured and said that intelligence-based operations (IBO) should be continued against the terrorists.

He further instructed to tighten security arrangements in the provincial capital.
