Extraordinary arrangements have been made for security and other administrative matters in connection with the Quaid-e-Azam Day and the Christmas festival in Bhakkar.
Fourteen Christmas bazaars have been set up selling clothes, artificial jewellery and decorative toys in addition to food items of daily use at cheaper rates.
The Revenue Department, the Rescue 1122, the Health Department, Traffic Police and other relevant departments have been given responsibilities and duties.
In the light of the orders of the Punjab government, the administration is focusing on the welfare of the Christian community and orders have been issued to the relevant officers to finalize all arrangements including security on the occasion of Christmas.
Cleanliness in the district on the occasion of Christmas, installation of streetlights outside churches, availability of CCTV cameras in functional condition, establishment of walkthrough gates and other administrative matters have been completed.
Foolproof security arrangements have also been made for Christmas celebrations. Orders have also been issued to the traffic police to prepare a special traffic plan in connection with the Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas programs.
The Deputy Commissioner of Bhakkar, Imran Hussain Ranjha, said that Christmas rituals were a message of peace and security. In this context, the flag of unity would be kept aloft.
Later, Commissioner Maryam Khan cut a cake along with the Christian community and presented them with gifts.
