SRK was shy about showing his abs, 'Jhoome Jo Pathaan' choreographer recalls

So far, ‘Pathaan’ songs have many on the fence

Shah Rukh Khan dropped the second song from his upcoming film Pathaan on Thursday. Titled Jhoome Jo Pathaan, the track failed to impress music lovers as many criticised its lacklustre melody, “cringe” lyrics, as well as music video. Some even felt repelled by SRK showing off his abs at 57 and others felt the dance steps were similar, if not the same, as Besharam Rang’s.

Now, the choreographer behind the song has reacted to the online backlash. Bosco Martis, who previously worked with Khan in Swades, said that the criticism and trolling do not matter to him as long as fans were entertained. On Thursday, Martis also shared a picture with Khan from the sets of Pathaan to pen an appreciation note for him. In this note, he recalled how the actor was “shy” about showing his abs.

Sung by Arijit Singh, many have called Jhoome Jo Pathaan ‘outdated’ on Twitter. While most hated the song, there weren't many takers for shots of Khan acting cool with his shirt billowing in the wind and his abs on full display – and that says something. In response, Martis told Times of India, “I believe everybody has their own opinions and social media is there to voice them. So, you must do what you have to do and they will do what they want to do. Right now, we are in such a world where everybody has an opinion and probably, we'll have to respect everybody's opinion and move on. As long as people are entertained, it really doesn't matter to me.”

In the photo shared on Martis’ Instagram, Khan wore a black shirt and pants with his abs showing. “This is undoubtedly one of the best pictures I have on my Insta page. Been so lucky to get this picture. I know you were very shy to click this one. And you were also so shy to show your abs, sir. It’s a treasured moment for me for a life time,” Martis wrote in the caption.

He then thanked Khan for nailing the moves, posing for the photo, and Deepika for being the epitome of glamour. “Hope we all enjoy our glorious Pathaan. Deepika Padukone, you are the epitome of glamour. shining and looking super hot.”
