KARACHI:

Huge hoardings and billboards, built using heavy iron bars, being increasingly installed for advertisement purposes on the rooftops of multi-storey commercial and residential buildings all over the city not only pose serious threat to the lives of citizens, also is a sheer violation of court orders.

Such advertisement display can cause an accident by falling due to strong winds as such incidents have happened in the past. Citizens have alleged that the authorities concerned have allowed the installation of such advertisement boards in many places ignoring the court orders.

The citizens have urged Sindh Chief Secretary, Sohail Rajput and Additional Chief Secretary for Local Government Najam Shah to ensure implementation of the court orders.

The citizens also demand that the illegal advertising boards should be removed immediately and authorities must ensure the standard manufacturing and installation of such hoardings.
