“Para Chamkani clan inhabits the Central Kurram while Turi tribe resides in Upper Kurram,” said a police official while talking to The Express Tribune, adding that Chamkani tribesmen accused Turi of collecting extortion or a tax from trucks transporting their minerals and kidnapped five of their men.

Deputy Commissioner Kurram, Wasil Khan Khattak said that the authorities were trying their level best to get the kidnapped people released and stop clashes between the two warring factions.

He said that a Jirga has been constituted to solve the issue.

“The assistant commissioner, DSP and forces are present in the area to stop clashes and find a permanent solution to the issue,” he said.
