Two bodies with their throats slit were found dumped in a ravine in the Tank district of KhyberPakhtunkhw (K-P) on Tuesday. Police told The Express Tribune that both the unfortunate young men had been brutally slaughtered.
Local residents spotted the bodies and informed police about them. “Police took the bodies into custody. It first shifted them to police station and then sent them for autopsy,” said an official of local police, adding that local residents had identified them as first cousins and local residents of a nearby village but they were not sure and efforts were being made to confirm their identity.
“Locals told us that they are Rahim Gul and Shah Noor but we have contacted their families for final confirmation,” he said.
A threatening letter was also found with the bodies, raising suspicion that they might have been put to death by miscreants on charges of spying. It may be mentioned here that militancy has been on the rise across the province as attacks on police have intensified in the past one year since the fall of Kabul to Taliban.
TTP has established a firm foothold once again in many districts of K-P, causing widespread panic and confusion.
