Six held for killing man over family feud

A citizen was killed when his car was attacked with firearms in Landhi Muhammad Nagar on Monday over a family dispute.

According to the details, Sharafi Goth police station received a report against an accused woman and five others for shooting at a car. The police registered a murder report on the complaint of the deceased's brother Mohammad Sajid late at night.

A woman Imtiaz alias Kali and five accused, Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Asif, Sadaqat, Rashid and Nadir Pahnoor, have been named in the case.

According to the FIR, the deceased Sadiq's son Kashif married Farah, the daughter of the accused Muhammad Asif, in the court a month ago. Fifteen days after the court marriage, Farah returned to her father's house. Farah's departure (rukhsati) was discussed between the deceased Muhammad Sadiq and Muhammad Asif. Muhammad Asif was asked to send his daughter Farah on December 10.

The deceased Sadiq gave seven tolas of gold and clothes to Muhammad Asif, after which Muhammad Asif refused to send his daughter back. Mohammad Asif demanded to divorce his daughter in the Jirga while it was decided in the Jirga that Muhammad Asif would return seven tolas of gold and clothes on December 19.

Brother Muhammad Sadiq, sister Bano Khan and niece Muqaddas reached the house of Muhammad Asif on Monday. Muhammad Sadiq sat outside in a car with the driver while the sister and niece went to the house of Mohammad Asif and demanded the return of the gold and clothes.
