Court reserves judgment in Jokhio murder case

The lawyers of the parties appeared at the hearing and gave arguments

KARACHI:

The Additional District and Sessions Judge Malir has reserved the decision on the completion of arguments of the parties regarding the reconciliation agreement in the Nazim Jokhio murder case.

Jokhio was tortured to death on November 3, 2021, a day after he had filmed local MNA, MPA and their foreign guests hunting the protected Houbara bustard. The family pardoned the suspects allegedly under duress.

Hearing of the application filed by Nazim Jokhio's heirs regarding the reconciliation agreement with the accused was held in front of the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Malir.

The lawyers of the parties appeared at the hearing and gave arguments.

The complainant's lawyer stated that there is an allegation of kidnapping against three suspects. As per the abduction clauses, legally reconciliation was not possible. Accused Niaz, Dodo and Somar are accused of kidnapping.

Hearing of bail plea adjourned

The Karachi City Courts the South District Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar adjourned the hearing of bail application of the late TV anchor Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain's widow who was arrested on charges of making and uploading on social media his obscene video in their bedroom.

Daniya Shah's mother appeared in the court along with lawyer Liaquat Ali Khan Gabol, on the wrong day to file her bail plea. Liaquat Ali Khan Gabol Advocate stated, "Daniya Shah is innocent, she is in prison for no reason, we want her to be released on bail." FIA cases are heard on Thursday, Judicial Magistrate Mukesh Kumar remarked, "We have scheduled the hearing today on your request, because FIA has only one prosecutor in the entire city court. If you want to make arguments, we are ready to listen. Today neither the FIA prosecutor nor the investigating officer is present."
