KARACHI:

The leaders of the Pakistan People's Party have said that the entire Pakistani nation will stand up in protest if the extremist elements in India stage any more demonstrations against Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The PPP provincial leaders stated this on Sunday while addressing a demonstration outside Karachi Press Club to show solidarity with Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for emphatically presenting the case of oppressed Kashmiri people and exposing atrocities committed by India before the international community. The PPP Karachi Division organised the demonstration.

The PPP leaders said that leadership of the People's Party from the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto till Benazir Bhutto had emphatically highlighted the cause of oppressed Kashmiri people.

They said the situation that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to spend sleepless nights after a speech by Bilawal at an international forum was a matter of immense pleasure for them.

Addressing the demonstrators, Sindh Labour and Human Resources Minister, Saeed Ghani, said that demonstrations were being held all over the country to expose the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and show solidarity with PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister. He said the People's Party had effectively presented the case of Kashmir before the international community.

Ghani lamented that former prime minister Imran Khan had done nothing when the Indian government had unlawfully acted to rescind the special constitutional status of the occupied Kashmir

He said that incumbent Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had raised the same issue in the US.

Ghani, who is also PPP Karachi Division President, said that Imran Khan had been fulfilling Indian designs about Pakistan by ruining the national economy and institutions.

The Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP's) supporters staged protest demonstrations in many districts of Sindh on Sunday, condemning Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for perpetrating violence against Muslims in India.

A rally led by PPP's local leader in Larkana district, Aijaz Ahmed Laghari, lambasted the smear campaign of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Modi against Pakistan and the country's Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

They defended Bilawal's speech in the United Nations in which he dubbed Modi as 'butcher of Gujrat' in reaction to his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar's remarks against Pakistan. "Bilawal Bhutto showed a mirror to the Indian PM at the UN," said Laghari.

The PPP Nawabshah chapter, led by the district's party president Ali Akbar Jamali, held a protest outside the press club.

In Khairpur district, where former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah chaired a party meeting which concluded in a rally, the PPP's supporters demanded from the UN to take notice of BJP's crimes against minorities especially Muslims.
