KARACHI:

The Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho on Saturday inaugurated the command and control room with 64 CCTV cameras set up at Malir City police station on behalf of Community Policing Karachi (CPK).

DC Malir, CPK Executive Director Murad Soni and other police officers were also present on the occasion. SSP District Malir Irfan Bahadur and Murad Soni also gave a detailed briefing to the police chief regarding the project.

Speaking at the event, Javed Alam Odho said that policing is impossible without the support of the community. Karachi Safe City is an important project to curb lawlessness and maintain peace in the city, Protecting precious lives and important facilities besides curbing street crimes are the important issues which should be taken up on priority basis, he said.

With the help of the community, we have started a similar project which is building on our success against street crimes and we are taking this project across the city. Now 7,000 more closed circuit cameras will be installed.

He said that Murad Soni and his team have an important role in carrying out the project successfully, who are working day and night to serve the people of Karachi. I also thank all the philanthropists who provided CCTV cameras for setting up the command and control room at the Malir City police station.
