Indiscriminate action: ‘Foreign hands behind Karachi mayhem’
Foreign elements are involved in the recent spate of terrorism in Karachi and the arrested killers have disclosed during interrogation that they had been trained in India, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Wednesday.
Talking to The Express Tribune he said that it has not been a tradition of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to fight over extortions, contributions, fitrah and sacrificial hides.
“Had this been the case”, he said, “then it would have been visible all over the country as the PPP is the biggest party of the country”.
He said that the arrested assassin Ajmal Pahari had told the joint interrogation team that he had been trained for terrorism in India.
He said that the politics of ‘dead bodies in sacks’ was introduced in the 1990s, while PPP had always been promoting peace.
He said that the situation in Lyari had started deteriorating during the Musharraf regime when, though he was arrested, Rahman Baloch was also allowed to run away. He said that it was during the PPP government when he had been killed in an encounter with the police.
He said that PPP was furthering the process of reconciliation.
He said that some locals were playing into the hands of foreign elements, however, now the law enforcment agencies had been given clear-cut instructions to deter terrorists at all costs.
He said that action was being taken against extortionists, targeted killers, land, drug mafias and other criminal gangs.

@Ali: Your comments are quite disappointing since your wish will put Pakistan into much deeper trouble than what it is now. You must realise that all internal problems which your country is facing are self-created and all Pakistanis should unite to solve them as we are doing against corruption in India. Having said that no one gives credibility to the story including people in Pakistan even if the statement is stretched.
We can deny Mr Shargeel Memon, but we must admit that we are the people who are literally cutting heads of our own brothers in the month of Ramadan. There are some serious difference between us for which we are cutting heads, who ever and wherever any one is trained he is achieving some big goal with this otherwise we are a lazy nation and not even able to halal a chicken for dinner.

@Irtiza Rizvi: It appears to be a stage managed video interview. Ajmal was prompted many times by the anchor and words were being put in his mouth. There are hardly any jungles within 200 kms(3-4hrs drive) around Delhi where any such training can be conducted since the entire area is so densely populated. It is unbelievable that a person staying for a month wouldnt have known the place or state where training was imparted to him. A shoddy job done, which is worth a good laugh.

2 things happen. 1) The disease might actually increase to an alarming level and could prove fatal. 2) The wrong medication might prove more harmful than no medication.
Now, tel me. Pakistani nation has been misdiagnosing its illness for the past 65 years. Do you really think India has been behind this?

Finally somebody in Pakistan has actually accused India of trying to internally destabilise Pakistan. Until now it's always been the Indians blaming Pakistan for everything. I remember watching a local. Police officer minutes afterthe recent blasts in Mumbai on tv who said it was Pakistan ! That is the paranoia there. Hopefully our leaders will wake up and expose the Indian crimes against our innocent brothers and sisters iin Kashmir also.

But why are we crying if India is doing all this? We know they are our enemies, our job should not be to cry over them but to counter them. @Santosh: Yes, it is technically plausible in the sense that both countries have covert operations trying to hurt each other and we are well aware of that. But this mayhem in Karachi for sure is home-grown involving many different players and we have to deal with it because the only people getting hurt are poor, destitute, and ones who are already crushed by society and are just trying to survive. To kill them mercilessly is so inhumane that it is beyond description in words. To blame it on India or anyone else and fail to deal with ground realities is sheer criminal. Thanks for your concern anyway. By the way, many here are praying for Anna Sahib Hazare's success in Jan Lokpal movement.
All the Indian bloggers have gone bezerk and shocked that India has been exposed of their crimes, murder and mayhem in Karachi, the heart of Pakistan. Complaint should be lodged against India in the United Nations and the international war crimes tribunal. India should be declared guilty of this genocide as if genocide in Kashmir was not enough!!
@Arzoo: It is actually great to see the comments not accept the allegations against India blindly. Although it is likely the killers could be trained in India. Consider this, Dawood Ibrahim, possibly India's biggest Mafia don had connections in Dubai and Pakistan. He was believed to have lived in Karachi. Surely there was an exchange of personnel from both countries at some point. It is thus not entirely implausible that the operatives were trained in India.

Its only only him talking about this. There are so many other indicators which show that India is financing the unrest in Pakistan. Unrest is created by any and every possible means. KPK, Balochistan and now Karachi. Investment and profit, both are quite important factors in karachi unrest. yes its a business.

The barriers that have been placed across a large number of streets of the metropolis have left the authorities in an awkward situation since, in addition to being illegal, they restrict the freedom of movement of citizens, law enforcement personnel and emergency workers but useful for party target killers only.

Jinnah's Pakistan came to an end in 1971 when Bengalis separated from Pakistan. Whatever is left will be finished with shameless statements like these. Having miserably failed in governing they are now blaming "foreign hands." And set aside Karachi for a moment, look at Balochistan, KPK, and even intereior Sindh. You will find total lawlessness, bribery, killings, and butchering of innocent people in these places. I reckon shamelessness has no bounds or limits in this land. The sad part is that the poor, destitute, oppressed, and disenfranchised people of Pakistan continue to suffer at the hands of these shameless people. just to make a few things clear, during the previous grand operations in 80's or 90's a lot of people had to flee Karachi,... most went to dubai or india or bangladesh etc, now this is definitely a known fact that some of them had been trained in india.....and are still creating havoc in Karachi after their return. as far as ppp and mqm and anp are concerned... they wont stop....
