Delimitation begins for Punjab LG polls
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started the delimitation of constituencies for local body elections in Punjab.
In Punjab, the boundaries of the districts were frozen, and the transfer of officers involved in the process of delimitation was also stopped.
The Election Commission has issued guidelines to the Punjab government, wherein it has been said that no change can be made in the boundaries of the administrative units.
Prohibition on the transfer of officers appointed in the Constituency Committee or convener of the Election Commission has also been stated.
Moreover, the work of constituencies of union councils for local government has also been accelerated.
The Constituency Committee of the Election Commission will make the constituencies of the union councils.
It has also been said that the delimitation of the union councils will be done on the basis of districts, tehsils, patwar circles, revenue states.
The commission has thus started the delimitation of constituencies of the union councils.
