Dr Baloch remembered for preserving folklore

Session held at Sindh University on the 105th birth anniversary

Speakers paid glowing tributes to Dr Nabi Bakhsh Khan Baloch for his excellent and valuable services for the preservation and development of Sindhi culture, language, literature and folklore.

They stated this at a session held at Sindh University on the 105th birth anniversary organized by Dr Baloch Chair on Friday.

The Director of the Chair, Dr Fayaz Latif said the literary and academic labor done by Dr Baloch on folk literature needed to be further developed and researched.

Dr Rehana Nazir Mallah said that Dr Baloch brought 42 types of folk songs with him from Thar adding that he wrote a book on the women of Sindh under the title of "Sindh Jon Manaityun Mayon" (The respected women of Sindh), in which he introduced six artist women in detail.
