Governor, city administrator, schoolchildren cut 60-pound cake

Dozens of guests including schoolchildren cheered Happy Birthday as huge 60-pound cake was cut for two birthday girls Sonia and Malika who turned 16 and 18 on Thursday at Safari Park Karachi. The female elephants enjoyed treat of cake, fresh fruit and vegetable.

Governor Kamran Khan Tessori fed Sonia and Malika cake on behalf of the people and the government followed by children and guests who had brought bananas, apples, carrots and even sugar cane for the two young ladies.

Tessori said hopefully there will be progress soon and good news will be heard regarding Karachi. "As a governor, I am representative of the federation and all political parties are equal for me."

He said an agreement has been reached with a multinational company in Islamabad to provide laptops to the youth of Sindh including Karachi for $100.

The governor the safari park needs to be improved. It should be such that people from all over Pakistan want to come here.

Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saifur Rehman, Senior Director Recreation Raza Abbas Rizvi, Director Safari Park Salman Shamsi and other officers were also present on this occasion.

Tesori said that he is grateful to Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saifur Rahman for inviting him to the birthday celebration of elephants at Safari Park.

He said that the 16th birthday of the elephant Sonia and the 18th birthday of the elephant Malika in the Safari Park have been celebrated with the aim of providing an opportunity to the citizens of Karachi to be happy. Earlier, the elephant's birthday has also been celebrated in Karachi Zoo, in which citizens participated in large numbers and especially the enthusiasm of children was visible.

Earlier, Governor Tesori along with Administrator Saifur Rehman cut a special 60-pound cake made for the birthday girls Sonia and Malika and fed the cakes and fruits to the two elephants with his own hands.

A large number of school children were also present on the occasion, who enthusiastically participated in the elephants' birthday. Tessori and Saifur Rehman met the children participating in the event and talked to them.

The safari park was decorated with colorful balloons for the birthday celebration, while Sonia and Malika the elephants were specially prepared for their birthdays.
