Police said that it was not an ordinary case of robbery and that terrorists were involved. It was the second attack at the same toll plaza in the district and both the assaults, according to police, were carried out by militants.

Similarly, a head constable of Dera police, Shah Wali, who had been under treatment at Nakwara check post, succumbed to his injuries. He had been left critically injured in an attack at Takwara police post in Kulachi.
