'Pasoori' becomes the most streamed Pakistani song of 2022

Spotify Wrapped revealed that the Ali Sethi, Shae Gill track beat all other local releases this year

From streaming in a Marvel show to becoming to most googled song of 2022, Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s Pasoori dominated 2022 with its innumerable achievements. With TikToks, covers, dance trends and more, the Coke Studio track is now also the most streamed Pakistani song on Spotify for 2022, stated a press release.

The sensational Punjabi song beat all other Pakistani songs released this year, as per Spotify’s Wrapped insights, both locally and globally — and Sethi and Gill couldn’t be prouder of their song doing wonders nearly 10 months post-release.

Sethi took to his social media to share the news. “Pasoori has surpassed expectations, overcome prejudices, and broken so many records. I am so proud of Pasoori for achieving these milestones while fully embodying its message of inclusion,” he wrote while expressing his excitement over the love that the song has received worldwide.

Gill, too, has been enjoying the love Pasoori has been getting and admires the power the track holds to touch so many hearts. “A huge achievement for Pakistan and something that we all can be proud of,” she exclaimed.
